Not just baskets
Three ideas for a decorative wood rack
In an article I wrote some time ago, I took some ideas for a wood rack built into the wall (you can find it here). But there is no need for such a radical change if you don't want to do any work on the wall. Here are some ideas for wood racks that blend in with the room and enhance its style.
Take a look and let me know: where do you put your small stock of wood for the day? Did you buy a ready-made product or did you create a custom one? For other ideas, don't forget to check out our board on Pinterest.
1. WALL-MOUNTED IN PAINTED STEEL SHEET
If the product frame is made of painted steel sheet, the same material can be used for the wood rack. Look at the original touch in the examples below. The first one is minimal, essential in its simplicity. The other ones can become elements with a strong decorative impact on the wall.
2. THE ALTERNATIVE BASKET
I've really got a soft spot for wicker baskets. I'd buy tons of them. Traditional baskets are a very common choice to store wood, but if you want to add an original touch, take a look at what our interior designer Alessandra Monti found for the photos in the MCZ and Sergio Leoni catalogue. The first one is a basket made from recycled tyres, the second one a rattan container. The last one is the classic choice of wicker, but in a perforated version.
3. THE VINTAGE CONTAINER
I love the idea of bringing new life to new containers by using them in an entirely new way. The photos below show some ideas stolen always from MCZ and Sergio Leoni's interior designer. She transformed into a wood basket some old iron cases, a tin box that has been painted in glossy red, some wooden crates formerly used to transport bottles of beer.
