Job Creation 2015: the winners

Here are the names of the ten young people selected for the scholarship offered by MCZ Group

The 2015 edition of Job Creation just ended. The project, entirely managed by MCZ Group with the support of EURES, the EU service for job mobility, involves the allocation of 10 scholarships to recent university graduates at their first working experience or internship abroad. This is the budget that the company would have spent for Christmas presents, but it decided to use it for a social responsibility initiative that can give a tangible contribution at a time when youth unemployment has reached peak levels.

Once again it attracted great interest and, thanks to a widespread campaign by EURES, our page devoted to the project was visited thousands of times and we received hundreds of requests for information from all over Europe.

We received a total of 86 applications as of 31 December 2015, when the competition was closed.

The selection process was based, as specified in the competition, on two criteria.

The first one was the performance of the last year of studies: as the competition was open to candidates from all over Europe, we used the “Overseas degree equivalency table” valid for the UK (which can be downloaded here). All the winners of the 2015 edition have a qualification comparable to a first-class honours degree in the UK.

The second selection criterion used was the time from the last qualification obtained in relation to the competition's deadline, i.e. 31/12/2015. Those with a more recent secondary-school certificate/degree were favoured. The winners of the 2015 edition had all got their qualification five months before or more.

Based on these criteria, here are the candidates who are about to receive the 2,500-euro scholarships from MCZ Group:

  • Sara Boccacci, from Noceto (PR), is a researcher at the Self-Employed Women's Association of New Delhi (India)
  • Luca Di Santo, from Ariccia (Roma), was hired as a nurse at the Burton Hospital in Burton-on-Trent (UK)
  • Corrado Galasso, from Brescia, is an intern at WE Architecture in Copenhagen (Denmark)
  • Irene Leonardelli, from Trento, is working as an intern at the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in Berlin (Germany)
  • Gianluigi Lustri, from Capistrello (AQ), is a researcher at the Grenoble Institute of Technology (France)
  • Elisa Minaldi, from Catania, will soon leave for a post as Clinical Observer at the Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London (UK)
  • Marta Pavan, from Paese (TV), is a communications intern at the Società Dante Alighieri in Berlin (Germany)
  • Anna Pirri, from Rome, started to work as an intern at the NGO Smart in Brussels (Belgium)
  • Micol Pittarello, from Mogliano Veneto (TV), is working as a receptionist at the 4-star Regency Hotel in South Kensington, London (UK)
  • Leonardo Tedeschi, from Bologna, works as a Junior assistant designer at LXSY Leroux Sichrovsky Architects in Berlin (Germany)

MCZ Group would like to thank all the candidates for the interest they expressed for the project.
