The built-in wood-burning range cooker

Solutions and practical advice for an impressive result

Combining the future and the past, technological progress with memories and flavours of the past: these are objectives often also interior designers pursue, especially when designing a kitchen. Indeed, although our lifestyles have become increasingly hectic, the kitchen is the main area bringing out pleasure of “coming home”, rediscovering the friendly atmosphere of a dish created with your own hands.

In this sense, a wood-burning range cooker is back in homes with a new look, cutting-edge technological components and a number of customisation options, through which it blends in with the furniture and brings back old cooking techniques.

A wood-burning range cooker is still often intentionally regarded as something distinct from the rest furniture in the kitchen. Indeed, it presents itself with a “different” look and giving it the importance of a separate single unit.

After adjusting available space, one can evaluate whether to dedicate a special area to the wood-burning range cooker, considering it as a completely distinct element.

Otherwise you may decide to treat the wood-burning range cooker as a single built-in unit by inserting it into the composition of base units and wall units. Given the presence of a firebox and in some cases also a wood-burning oven, extra care is necessary for the distances you need to keep. In almost all J.Corradi range cookers, for instance, specific distances are required by the built-in furniture to ensure adequate cooling of the sides of the range cooker.

For instance, in the Country 100L model with firebox on the left and wood-burning oven on the right, you will need to consider 50 mm on each side from the furniture for the air. However, this gap can be covered by using a spacer made with the range cooker's same side finish. With this solution you can perfectly blend in the range cooker also in base units and wall units, thereby creating a personal and unique composition.
